ShredSpots was built to solve a real problem in the skateboarding community: finding reliable skate spots is hard. Skaters often rely on scattered Instagram posts, outdated maps, word of mouth, or random searches to find new places to skate.
ShredSpots brought those discoveries into one simple mobile app. With a live skate spots map, user-submitted skate spots, photos, and spot details, the app helped skateboarders spend less time searching and more time skating.

Built by the Original Founder
ShredSpots was founded and built in 2019 by Luis Calvillo, the original founder of ShredSpots and founder of Mighty Apps. Luis designed and developed the original iOS version of the app, including the product experience, mobile interface, interactive map, and early community features.
The app grew organically to over 100,000 downloads and was successfully acquired in 2021, becoming Luis Calvillo’s first founder exit.
